*Please bring  your test or exam results that you want to share with our acupuncturist.


* Please try to relax and have a good night of sleep and a proper meal 30 minutes before your appointment. The more you rest and relax, the more effective treatment you will get.



* The initial visit will last about one hour which will include a comprehensive review of your medical problem and general health, as well as the acupuncture treatment.

* A follow-up visit will last about 30 minutes to one hour. It depends on the treatment that you selected. It will include a brief review of your progress and a reconsideration of the acupuncture treatment.

Do you take insurance?
We have contracts with some insurance companies that allow us to provide a discount to patients. For other plans we will provide you super bill which includes appropriate billing codes (ICD10 and CPT) so that you can submit a claim to your insurance company.


How many treatments will it take to see results?
Acute conditions can be resolved fairly quickly, in some cases with one visit.  Chronic problems on the other hand take longer, perhaps weeks or even months.  At the initial visit, the expected length of treatment will be discussed with you.  The goal is to get you better as quickly as possible, but healing root of cause is very important. Once, the pain goes away, they want to come for continuing to keep  the optimal condition of health. 


Does acupuncture hurt?
Patients often worry that acupuncture will hurt.  The needles are width of a hair and are designed to slide effortlessly into the body.  The tip is even shaped to increase the patients comfort.  Some patients do not feel any sensation when the needle is inserted; others describe what feels like a mosquito bite or small pinch.  Sometimes,  there is a sensation of tingling, warmth, coolness or heaviness at the site of insertion as well as radiating from the point as the Qi travels throughout the body. The recent study shows that the patient who took coffee feels more pain. 


How does acupuncture work?
It is easy to explain how acupuncture works from a Traditional Oriental Medicine (TOM) perspective .  TOM explains acupunturing is connect the Qi( energy), then the pain will disappear. Some studies have recently shown that acupuncture “lights up” certain areas of the brain and that it induces natural pain relieving endorphins.   

Do you have to “believe” in acupuncture for it to be effective?
Oriental medicine and  acupuncture are not a belief system; they are components of a health care system with scientifically proven.  As with any healing modality whether Western or Eastern the treatment will be more successful if the patient is able to approach it with a positive outlook.  Acupuncture is used to treat dogs, cats and horses who do not posses a belief system yet the actual studies and real treatment show that if you believe in it, the results  and effectives are  much better and bring quick  recovery. You do not need to believe in it, Just have a faith- that will make a difference, because this work is energy work. you give good vibe, you get it back the results.
